Rcom ranks second in Telecom Sector in India

Reliance-Communications-LOGOReliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's Reliance Communications (RCom) has reached a major milestone of 100 million subscriber base. It took seven years of operation for the telecom player to reach this mark.

This is a very significant achievement considering the fact that apart from Reliance only Bharti Airtel is the other telecom company which has reached such a huge subscriber base. All other major players like Vodafone, Idea, Tata Tele etc. have yet not crossed this mark. Currently, the total subscriber base of mobile users in India is 545.05 million as of January 2010.

Reliance Communications, which is known for its aggressive DNA and innovative marketing strategy along with competitive pricing, is hopeful to add the next 100 million subscribers in just next three years of span. This is even less than half the time taken by the company to reach the first 100 millions.

On this special occasion Reliance ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani said, "This landmark of acquiring 100 million mobile users makes us the youngest telecom operator to reach such an achievement in such a small time period."
