Washington, September 3 : A new study has shown that chimpanzees in Congo use "specialised tool kits" to catch army ants.
Published in the American Journal of Primatology, the study suggests that chimpanzees have developed a ''sustainable'' way of harvesting food.
Led by Dr Crickette Sanz, researchers associated with the Goualougo Triangle Ape Project studied several communities of chimpanzee throughout the Nouabale-Ndoki national park in the Republic of Congo.

London, August 15 : Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been asked by a man, who has been rendered homeless by a powerful earthquake, whether he can move in to one of his houses.
Antonio Bernardini's home in the town of L''Aquila was destroyed by in the April disaster, which killed almost 300 people and left thousands to live in temporary accommodation.
At the time Berlusconi called on the nation to take in those left homeless by the quake, and said: "I will also do what I can by offering my houses."
Smuggling of drugs and arms on the rise at Indo-Pak border

Gurdaspur, Aug. 19 : The smuggling of heroin, arms and ammunition appears to be on the rise along the India-Pakistan border with two incidents of illegal smuggling surfacing on Monday and Tuesday.
On Tuesday (Aug. 18), the Border Security Force recovered a huge haul of heroin at the Bohar Wadala border outpost in Gurdaspur District.
According to BSF Inspector General (Frontier) Himmat Singh, BSF personnel head constable G. C. Sharma and constables Parveen Kumar and U. K. Bral were alert enough to seize the consignment.

Wellington - Two journalists working for the independent Fijilive news website have been arrested, apparently for infringing emergency censorship regulations barring reports that cast a negative light on the Pacific island country's military rulers, according to reports from the capital Suva on Monday.
Dionisia Turagabeci and Shelvin Chand were arrested on Saturday, but it was not clear what were charged with, Radio New Zealand International reported.
Hamas says Palestinian parliament to remain until new elections

Ahmed Bahar, the council's deputy speaker for Hamas, told a news conference in Gaza City his movement rejected a proposal to merge the parliament with the Palestinian Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
"The Legislative Council (PLC) will exist and act until new presidential and legislative elections are held in the Palestinian territories," said Bahar, in an announcement unlikely to be accepted by Hamas' main rival, the Fatah party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The 58-year old subsidiary of the German component maker Robert Borsch, Bosch India has threatened a lock out even at its main plant after the workers at its Naganathpura production plant refused to come back on work.
The company has already lost an order from Maruti Suzuki and as the other orders from the auto majors like Hyundai, Ford and Tata are also expected to feel the heat of the lockout, the component maker is perhaps in no mood to stay quiet.

Islamabad - Pakistan said on Wednesday it favoured dialogue to deal with the problem of rising Islamic militancy, but warned that no one would be allowed to use its soil to attack a foreign country.
"The dialogue is our first priority. We will rehabilitate and bring into mainstream all those people who are ready to lay down weapons," said Information Minister Sheri Rehman after a meeting of the country's ruling coalition and the military leadership.

Genetic engineering was the key to their success, said the researchers.
They said that the regenerative ability of their new animal model, the PANIC-ATTAC mouse, might provide future insights into improved treatments of diabetes.
According to them, the animal model mimics what occurs in humans with type 1 diabetes, a condition that develops when the body's immune system destroys pancreatic beta cells, as well as in type 2 diabetes, where beta cells die from working overtime.

The survey conducted by tourism website iknow-uk. com showed that Britons are giving up English dishes like Welsh rarebit, toad in the hole, or bangers and mash for curry, pizzas and pastas.
