New Delhi, Nov. 18 : Government-sponsored research and development for the private sector is essential for providing a push to technological excellence in India''s manufacturing sector, said Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Industrial Policy and Promotion.

New Delhi, sept. 8 : India remains committed to a just and transparent multilateral trading regime and is in favour of continuing the Doha Round of trade negotiations, said Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Industry, on Monday.

Kumar, however, stated that New delhi could not be expected to carry a disproportionate burden for the difficulties in negotiations.
