Pampered cats put their best ‘paw’ forward at Britain''s Supreme Cat Show!

London, Nov 23 : Britain''s Supreme Cat Show saw a huge turn out on November 22, as cats of different breeds and sizes were paraded by their doting owners.

The cats are so pampered that they were seen spending most of the time dozing off in their own beds with downy duvets and embroidered pillows, which is a big difference from dogs or pony shows.

Added to their comfy sleeping arrangements were toys, music, mini-fans to keep them cool and mirrors to remind them of how gorgeous they were, with no activities included to show their talents off.

The show’s biggest attraction however were the cat owners, who stand by the cages describing the cat''s remarkable qualities from its gleaming eyes, its perfect proportions, its unique personality, its evident fitness.

The Supreme Show, held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, is the cat world''s answer to Crufts and anybody who really considers themselves a cat fancier has to be here.

Now in its 32nd year, it is the biggest cat show in Europe – a kind of gathering of the mognoscenti.

The cats that are entered for the competition range from Persians, Abyssinians, Burmese, Snowshoes, and Sphinxes to the normal house cat.

There is no limit to the pampering these cats get, as revealed by Jennifer Sedgewick, who owns a seven-month-old Russian White, Catwo Dmitri.

“This is a serious cat,” the Telegraph quoted Mrs Sedgewick, from Leominster, Herefordshire as saying.

“Lifestyle is important to a cat like this. Wealth and taste matter. He likes caviar and smoked salmon. He''s been scared stiff by the credit crunch,” she added.

Such pet pampering has really put meaning to the saying: “dogs have owners, cats have staff”. (ANI)
