New York Couple Welcomes Identical Triplets

A Long Island couple was blessed with rare identical triplets and their two-year-old brother has his own unique way to identify them, he calls all three of them with the same name.

Parents Kelli and Jason Fenley of Brightwaters said they are filled with joy after the birth of their babies. The couple said they came across their exceptional conception in an early sonogram.

Dad Jason Fenley told that the tech was very quiet and serious and then she said that she has never seen before. The tech told them Kelli is pregnant with triplets and they are identical. The couple said they did not use any fertility drugs.

Dr. Martin Chavez said they fertilized one egg, that egg split once, and one of the eggs split again so genetically they were identical. Doctors at Winthrop University Hospital say identical triplets, especially in this case without fertility drugs, are a medical marvel.

Jason Fenley said he always used to say that instead of hitting the money lottery they hit the genetic lottery. He said their three sons, Owen Michael, Noah Charles and Miles John, weighed in at birth less than three pounds each.

"Right now we are color coding them. Each baby has a different color. One of their toe nails is painted that particular color and we like to dress them in the same color for the day", said Kelli Fenley.

The babies were born at Winthrop University Hospital on July 1 at only 29 weeks. Their full term delivery date would have been next week, said doctors.
