Majdic keeps winning, victory also for Hattestad
Dusseldorf - Slovenia's Petra Majdic won her third World Cup sprint of the season in Dusseldorf Saturday while Ola Vigen Hattestad of Norway claimed victory in the men's event to move top of the standings.
Majdic held off Russia's Natalia Matveeva and Maiken Caspersen Falla of Norway to win the women's freestyle race while Hattestad prevailed in the men's event ahead of compatriot Tor Arne Hetland and Italy's Fabio Pasini.
Hattestad now heads the World Cup standings with 300 points after seven of 33 events. Switzerland's Dario Cologna lies second on 208, followed by Norway's Tor Arne Hetland on 191 points.
Aino-Kaisa Saarinen of Finland leads the women's standings with 397 points, Majdic lies second just eight points behind, with Marit Bjoergen third on 280. (dpa)
