Mumbai, May 18 : Actor Arshad Warsi, who played Circuit in the "Munna Bhai" films with Sanjay Dutt essaying the lead role, says he won't do any new film in the popular franchise without the real "Munna Bhai".
He says neither can he, nor will audiences be able to see anybody else in the role instead of Sanjay, who is currently in jail serving his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
Mumbai, May 17 : Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who stood by Sanjay Dutt during his trying times, is confident the actor will make a fresh start after completing his jail term.
Sanjay surrendered at the TADA Court Thursday to serve his remaining three-and-a-half year jail term in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast case. The actor will be moved to Pune's Yerwada jail.
Mumbai, May 16 : With scores of photographers jostling and crowds craning to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood star, a visibly upset Sanjay Dutt left his Bandra home Thursday to return to prison to complete his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
A lot of big names from the film fraternity were there to show their support and solidarity towards 'Munnabhai', who has been convicted under the Arms Act for illegal possession of arms.
New Delhi, April 9 : Filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, makers of the popular "Munna Bhai" franchise, say they will wait for the real "Munna Bhai" Sanjay Dutt to come out of the prison after serving his sentence to make the third film.
Hyderabad, March 25 : Actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been sentenced to five years in jail in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, will start dubbing for "Zanjeer" Thursday, director Apoorva Lakhia said.
Lakhia said they require three days with Sanjay to complete the movie, a remake of 1973 hit of the same name that had starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.

Mumbai, March 5 : Sanjay Dutt has fallen in love with his character of real-life unconventional cop Pritam Singh in "Zilla Ghaziabad". He will now produce a film in which he will again play the notorious real-life cop from Ghaziabad.
The film entitled "Pritam" has been written by the "Zilla Ghaziabad" writer Vinay Sharma.

Mumbai, Feb 2 : A hunt for an item girl is on for Sanjay Dutt-starrer "Policegiri", a remake of Tamil hit "Saamy".
"We will soon shoot for an item number for this film. We are in search of an item girl, and once we finalise, we will make an official announcement," T. P. Aggarwal, the film's producer, told IANS.
"We will be shooting for the item song in Mumbai or Wai in March," he added,
Most of the film's shooting is done.
Lucknow, Nov 2 : The Uttar Pradesh government Friday decided to withdraw cases slapped by the previous Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) regime against Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who had allegedly made comments against former chief minister Mayawati.
The decision was taken by the home department following a recommendation by the Law department on the matter, said an official.

Mumbai, Aug 13 - Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt adopted his father Sunil Dutt's dacoit avatar from 1963 film "Mujhe Jeene Do" for upcoming movie "Son Of Sardar" (SOS).
The actor had plans of remaking his father's film "Mujhe Jeene Do", but the plan has been incorporated in the Ajay Devgn-starrer "SOS". If a reliable source is to be believed, Sanjay's clothes and make-up have been modelled around his father's look.

Mumbai, March 9 - Filmmaker Samir Karnik, known for his family dramas like "Heroes", "Yamla Pagla Deewana" and just released "Chaar Din Ki Chandni", is now set to direct "Dus 2" and says he can't make the action thriller without Sanjay Dutt.
"The star cast will be repeated as that of the old version. I can't make 'Dus' without Sanjay Dutt," Karnik told IANS.

Addressing mediapersons, the 52-year-old actor prayed for Bachchan's soon recovery.

At a recent success party of the film hosted by Hrithik Roshan, photographers looking to take Dutt's picture addressed him as `Kancha'.
