New Delhi, July 30 : Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is extremely happy that his 'close friend' Salman Khan has got a clean chit in the Chinkara poaching case.
Sanjay, who is now a free man after completing his jail time of three years, recently addressed the media on the occasion of his 57th birthday at his residence.
Mumbai, July 30 : Actor Sanjay Dutt says that the much anticipated third part of the successful franchise "Munnabhai" will release in 2018.
At a media interaction on the occasion of his 57th birthday, Sanjay said: "My movie with (Vidhu) Vinod Chopra sahab will start in November, it is called 'Marco'. And after that, I am doing a film with Mahesh Manjrekar, it is a remake of 'De Dhakka', and then there is a good line-up of movies."
About "De Dhakka", he added, "It is a family film and it's about how a broken family reunites. He (Manjrekar) has adapted it well, let's see what happens."
Mumbai: Actor Sanjay Dutt, who celebrates his 57th birthday today, has been finalised to play the lead in director Mahesh Manjrekar's next, which is a remake of 2008 superhit Marathi film 'De Dhakka'.
Manjrekar and Dutt have earlier collaborated in films like 'Vaastav', 'Kurukshetra', 'Hathyar' and 'Rakht'.
"I met Sanju after a long while and I realised he has matured a lot, looked fresh and fit. Initially, I was contemplating working with him on something different, that would surprise the audience," the filmmaker said in a statement.
Mumbai: Actor Arshad Warsi says the third installment of 'Munna Bhai' series is not getting started as the Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic on Sanjay Dutt is yet to go on floors.
"That (starting 'Munna Bhai 3' ) is an issue as Raju (Hirani) has to start the Sanjay Dutt biopic and it is getting pushed ahead," Arshad told PTI.
"Until and unless he (Hirani) decides he wants to do 'Munnabhai' part three first and then the Sanjay Dutt biopic... If that happens then we will go first," he said.
New Delhi, July 19 : Looks like Sanjay Dutt's return to the films will get delayed and the reason is none other than his 'Agneepath' nemesis Hrithik Roshan.
Sometime back, it was reported that the 56-year-old actor was all set to make his comeback to the big screen with the Siddharth Anand-directed 'Badlaa,' but now it seems that the director signed an action film, possibly titled 'Fighter,' with Hrithik around the same time.
So, according to a DNA reports, plaguing 'Munnabhai's comeback vehicle, the ' Mohenjo Daro' actor's movie is given the preference.
New Delhi, July 9 : We can't think of a 'Khalnayak' sequel without Sanjay Dutt, who nailed his role of 'Balaram Rakesh Prasad "Ballu" in the film and indeed filmmaker Subhash Ghai too feels the same.
Subhash, 71 and Sanjay, 56, are back together for the film's sequel titled ' Khalnayak Returns'.
The Mumbai Mirror quoted Subhash, as saying, "We've made an agreement to produce KhalNayak Returns which will roll by the year end or early next year. I'd met Sanjay when he was out on parole and discussed the idea with him."
Mumbai, June 29 : The shooting of Sanjay Dutt's upcoming untitled film with Siddharth Anand has been delayed as the director has asked for more time for pre-production work. In the meantime, the actor will start shooting for another project.
Sanjay, who walked out a free man earlier this year 23 years after his legal problems began over his possessing an assault rifle, was supposed to return to the silver screen with Anand's film.

According to a report in Bollywood. Life, the forthcoming biopic, which was scheduled to kick off in September this year, has been put on a hold due to rift between the makers and producers over production rights.

The 56-year-old actor took a private jet from Pune to Mumbai after his release from Yerawada jail, where he served a five-year term for illegal possession of an AK-56 rifle before the 1993 blasts.
According to ANI sources, Subhash Jadhav, Dutt's lawyer, made the plea before special judge G A Sanap, who presides over Tada Act cases, saying, since the actor had been released, the passport that he had surrendered to the court's custody may also be returned.

Mumbai, Feb. 25 : After a long wait of 42 months, Sanjay Dutt today has been set free from Yerwada jail in Pune, where he was serving the remainder of his five-year sentence for possession of illegal arms in the '93 Mumbai bomb blasts case.
After visiting Siddhivinayak Temple and his mother Nargis Dutt's grave, Munnabhai met the press, where he said his father Sunil Dutt's only fight was to see his son free.
Pune, Feb 25 - There's no easy road to freedom, said Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt upon his exit from the Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ) here on Thursday after serving a 42-month prison-term for illegal possession of arms during the March
1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
Before boarding a chartered flight to Mumbai, Sanjay, who was welcomed by a surge of fans here, told the media: "There is no easy road to freedom."
The "Kaante" star also credited his fans and well-wishers for their unending support.
He said: "I am here because of their (fans') support."
