Mumbai, May 18 : Actor Arshad Warsi, who played Circuit in the "Munna Bhai" films with Sanjay Dutt essaying the lead role, says he won't do any new film in the popular franchise without the real "Munna Bhai".

He says neither can he, nor will audiences be able to see anybody else in the role instead of Sanjay, who is currently in jail serving his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

Mumbai, May 17 : Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who stood by Sanjay Dutt during his trying times, is confident the actor will make a fresh start after completing his jail term.

Sanjay surrendered at the TADA Court Thursday to serve his remaining three-and-a-half year jail term in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast case. The actor will be moved to Pune's Yerwada jail.

Mumbai, May 16 : With scores of photographers jostling and crowds craning to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood star, a visibly upset Sanjay Dutt left his Bandra home Thursday to return to prison to complete his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

A lot of big names from the film fraternity were there to show their support and solidarity towards 'Munnabhai', who has been convicted under the Arms Act for illegal possession of arms.

New Delhi, April 9 : Filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, makers of the popular "Munna Bhai" franchise, say they will wait for the real "Munna Bhai" Sanjay Dutt to come out of the prison after serving his sentence to make the third film.

Hyderabad, March 25 : Actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been sentenced to five years in jail in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, will start dubbing for "Zanjeer" Thursday, director Apoorva Lakhia said.

Lakhia said they require three days with Sanjay to complete the movie, a remake of 1973 hit of the same name that had starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.

Thiruvananthapuram, March 23 : As more and more film personalities express moral support for Sanjay Dutt, convicted for possession of arms illegally, ace Malayalam superstar Mohanlal too says the Bollywood actor should be shown leniency.

Mumbai, March 5 : Sanjay Dutt has fallen in love with his character of real-life unconventional cop Pritam Singh in "Zilla Ghaziabad". He will now produce a film in which he will again play the notorious real-life cop from Ghaziabad.

The film entitled "Pritam" has been written by the "Zilla Ghaziabad" writer Vinay Sharma.

Mumbai, Feb 2 : A hunt for an item girl is on for Sanjay Dutt-starrer "Policegiri", a remake of Tamil hit "Saamy".

"We will soon shoot for an item number for this film. We are in search of an item girl, and once we finalise, we will make an official announcement," T. P. Aggarwal, the film's producer, told IANS.

"We will be shooting for the item song in Mumbai or Wai in March," he added,

Most of the film's shooting is done.

Lucknow, Nov 2 : The Uttar Pradesh government Friday decided to withdraw cases slapped by the previous Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) regime against Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who had allegedly made comments against former chief minister Mayawati.

The decision was taken by the home department following a recommendation by the Law department on the matter, said an official.

Bollywood stars David Dhawan, Rajkumar Hirani, Jaya Bachchan and Dalip Tahil among others celebrated the festival with traditional joy and gaiety to mark the festival.

The nine-day long Navaratra festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga, a manifestation of the Mother Goddess in Hindu mythology.

New Delhi, Aug 23 - The CBI Thursday urged the Supreme Court to maintain the six years' jail term awarded to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt for sourcing a rifle and some ammunition from those who were later accused of the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

Mumbai, Aug 13 - Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt adopted his father Sunil Dutt's dacoit avatar from 1963 film "Mujhe Jeene Do" for upcoming movie "Son Of Sardar" (SOS).

The actor had plans of remaking his father's film "Mujhe Jeene Do", but the plan has been incorporated in the Ajay Devgn-starrer "SOS". If a reliable source is to be believed, Sanjay's clothes and make-up have been modelled around his father's look.

Mumbai, June 12 - Sanjay Dutt says "Ferrari Ki Sawaari" reminded him of his late father, actor Sunil Dutt, and the emotional moments he spent with him. This is because the film is about a father who thinks about nothing but his son and his dreams.

"It's an honest film. It's full of values, bonding and about father-son relationship. It reminded me of my relationship with my dad," Sanjay said here.

Mumbai, March 9 - Filmmaker Samir Karnik, known for his family dramas like "Heroes", "Yamla Pagla Deewana" and just released "Chaar Din Ki Chandni", is now set to direct "Dus 2" and says he can't make the action thriller without Sanjay Dutt.

"The star cast will be repeated as that of the old version. I can't make 'Dus' without Sanjay Dutt," Karnik told IANS.

Mumbai, March 1 - Sanjay Gupta, known for his dark thrillers, is set to direct his next "Shootout At Wadala" from Thursday and this will be his first movie without Sanjay Dutt. The filmmaker says they have done their share of movies and now it's time to move on.

New Delhi, Feb 16 : Sanjay Dutt, who has gained many accolades for essaying the role of underworld don in several films in the past, is all set to play a real life gangster for the first time in his upcoming flick.

The 52-year-old will portray gangster Sharman Munjha Jadeja from Porbandar, Gujarat in Soham Shah's next.

If things go well, then the shooting of the film will begin in May.

New Delhi, Feb 13 : Sanjay Dutt and Sahara Group's Subarata Roy met Amitabh Bachchan after he underwent an abdominal surgery on Saturday.

Addressing mediapersons, the 52-year-old actor prayed for Bachchan's soon recovery.

"We all pray that sir remains healthy and we all are his big fans. As soon as I got to know about his surgery I came to meet him," he said.

New Delhi, Feb 4 : Sanjay Dutt has turned into an item boy, as he will be performing a number with south Indian actress Shriya Saran in the upcoming film `Zila Ghaziabad'.

The track called `Main item No. 1' will be sung by Bappi Lahiri's son Bappa and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

The movie is loosely based on a gang war between two rival groups of Satbir Gurjar and Mahender Fauji, which happened in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Mumbai, Feb 2 - After "Department", Ram Gopal Varma is planning another project, inspired by Steven Spielberg's "Munich", with Sanjay Dutt and says the actor is "our last action hero" and that he wants to "cast him as a one-man army on a global mission".

The role model for the film is Eric Bana in "Munich" and Sanjay will pump up the iron to get into a sinewy shape to shoot for the espionage thriller.

Mumbai, Jan 31 - They play antagonistic villains in "Agneepath" but in real life, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor have discovered a new warmth and friendship that goes beyond the success of a collaborative film.

The last film they had done together was "Sahibaan" 18 years ago. Now while working together in "Agneepath", the two actors seem to have discovered a mutual fund of fondness.

New Delhi, Jan 31 : Sanjay Dutt, who wowed audiences with his portrayal of the villainous `Kancha Cheena' in `Agneepath', has expressed his displeasure at being called by that name off-screen.

At a recent success party of the film hosted by Hrithik Roshan, photographers looking to take Dutt's picture addressed him as `Kancha'.

However, the `Munnabhai' star seemed to take offence to that and snapped at the photographers.

While addressing the press conference, Hrithik, denied claims that he is emulating Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the film.
