London, Jan. 17 : Director Kathryn Bigelow has defended the representation of torture in her latest film Zero Dark Thirty, which is based on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
She said that torture was part of the story, and omitting it would have been `whitewashing history'.

New Delhi, Dec 19 : After the Oscar-winning "The Hurt Locker" on the Iraq war, Kathryn Bigelow now brings one of the world's greatest manhuts in "Zero Dark Thirty", key sequences of which have beeen shot in India. Though the director admits it is a sensitive topic as it involves Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, she says it "has been sensibly and cautiously made".

Washington, Dec 6 : Kathryn Bigelow's drama `Zero Dark Thirty,' about the hunt for Osama bin Laden, was named the best film of the year by the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures on Wednesday.
The movie, set to open in limited release December 19, took home two other top prizes, as Bigelow was deemed best director and star Jessica Chastain was given the lead actress award, LA Times reported.

London, May 25: Oscar-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow will direct a film about the killing of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden after Colombia Pictures won the rights to distribute the movie.

London, Feb 22 - Iraq war drama "The Hurt Locker" swept to success at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) Sunday in London with director Kathryn Bigelow also winning the best director award.
Bigelow beat out competition from ex-husband James Cameron, whose sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" had also been nominated in both categories.
