New Delhi, July 10 : Action hero Jackie Chan laid the foundation of a new museum, which will be named after him, on Tuesday.
The Jackie Chan Film Art Museum will be constructed in Shanghai, and Chan’s legendary career will be archived there.
According to reports, Chan handpicked the location for the museum in the Changfeng Ecology Commercial District in Shanghai''s Putuo District.
Basically, the renovation of an old factory building will give way to the museum, which will stand on a plot of 3,100 square meters.
Work on the project is expected to complete on October 1 next year, reports the China Daily.
The museum will give visitors a chance to retrace Chan''s footsteps from Hong Kong to Hollywood, navigate through detailed showpieces of the actor from being a Chinese icon, a kung-fu megastar to a charity devotee.
Also on display will be some of the film awards Chan has won, as well as costumes and props he has used.
According to Chan''s Web site, the actor has also signed a contract in Yunnan Province for a Jackie Chan Peace Garden.
Through this, he will cooperate with the local government to promote "Environment, Friendship, and Charity", says the site.
Earlier, a report also suggested that Chan was planning to build a kung-fu school. (ANI)
