London, Dec 23 : Charlize Theron will be honoured with the Variety Indie Impact Awards for her independent movie work at an upcoming Palm Springs Film Festival in California.

The 36-year-old actress will receive the award at a star-studded gala event in January next year in recognition of her long-time support of independent film, the Daily Star reported.

Theron, who has appeared in low-budget flicks like ‘North Country’, ‘In the Valley of Elah’ and ‘The Burning Plain’, follows in the footsteps of previous honourees Philip Seymour Hoffman and Mark Wahlberg.

The Oscar-winning actress will be presented with the award on 8th January 2012. (ANI)
