Washington, October 6 : Teary eyed La Toya Jackson recalled her mother’s horror when she learnt about the sudden death of her son Michael.

La Toya confessed she nearly crashed her car as she heard her shocked mother Katherine shout on the phone that the singer had passed away.

"I was driving over to the hospital and I was speaking to my mother''s assistant, and I kept asking how he was doing, and he (the assistant) just wouldn''t answer me,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Britain''s GMTV.

“And I heard my mother in the background say, ''Who is that?'' And she grabbed the phone and screamed down the phone, screamed at the top of her lungs, ''He''s dead, he''s dead.''

“And I heard it and I almost crashed the car so many times as I tried to get over there, even though I was only three minutes away," she added.

The King of Pop died aged 50 on June 25 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his rented Los Angeles mansion. (ANI)
