After showing strength during the first hour of trading, Indian Stock market has moved upwards. At 12.10 pm IST, the BSE Sensex was up by 260 points, while NSE Nifty was 80 points higher at 4468. Among sectoral indices, Bankex, Capital Goods, BSE Auto, BSE Metals and BSE PSU were up.  BSE Midcap index was up by 99 points at 5485.

Among major gainers on NSE were, real estate major DLF (up by 3.6%), L&T (up by 3.6%), Jindal Steel (up by 3.5%), Siemens, Idea Cellular, BPCL, Hindalco, Hindustan Unilever, Cairn India, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Capital and HDFC Bank.

Infosys Technologies, TCS, Cipla and Grasim were among major losers in today’s session. These stocks were marginally down. The market breadth was positive with more shares gaining.

Indian markets are expected to close higher today after a huge fall during yesterday’s trading session. If European markets open higher, Indian stock markets may gain further during the last hour of trading.
