New Delhi - Indian equities rose 3 per cent in trading Friday on increased buying by investors in blue-chip stocks.

The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share sensitive index Sensex ended trade on Friday, gaining 419.02 points, or 2.92 per cent, to close at 14,764.65.

Fundamentally strong stocks in banking, capital goods and information technology segments supported the rally.

Similarly, the broader 50-share Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange rose by 133,65 points, or 3.15 per cent, to end trading at 4,375.50.(dpa)
