The Hills' Lauren Conrad heads to film production
Los Angeles - Lauren Conrad, star of reality TV series The Hills, is planning on adapting her best-selling book LA Candy into a movie that she wants to produce herself, People reported Tuesday.
The repot came after the New York Daily News reported that she is close to a movie deal on the novel, which closely mirrors Conrad's own life story of coming to Hollywood and starring in her own reality show.
Conrad told the paper that there was no truth to rumours that the book was ghostwritten for her.
"I wrote my book, and I don't really feel the need to defend it," she said. "I've been writing forever. I have never written anything professionally before, so this was a big step for me. Writing was always my best subject in school, and it's something I've always loved to do." (dpa)
