Hero MotoCorp to offer five-year warranty on all 2-wheelersIndian automotive major, Hero MotoCorp, which is the world's largest two wheeler maker by volume, has launched a new warranty plan under which it will offer a 5 years or 70,000 kilometer warranty on all its motorcycles.

As for the scooter range, the company will offer a 5 year or 50,000 kilometer warranty on all models. It is believed that the extended warranty is likely to enhance the demand for the company's models in the country and will allow the company to attract more customers in the country. The company's models are known for high quality, high fuel economy and high level of reliability and the extended warranty scheme would boost the company's image in the minds of the customers.

Hero MotoCorp already maintains the largest dealership and after sales network in the Indian two wheeler market. The company maintains a leading position in the Indian market but its position is being channelged by former partner, Honda and others including Bajaj and TVS.

It is not the first time that an Indian two wheeler company is offering extended warranty in the country. Bajaj Auto offered a 5 years or 100,000 kilometer warranty with first generation of the Pulsar 200 and the Pulsar 220, TVS Motors offers a 5 years or 50,000 kilometer warranty on the Star City motorcycle and Honda offers an is offering 5 year or 100,000 kilometer warranty on the CBR250R.
