Finally the Indian cricket team selectors has been looking to follow the theory of “Old is Gold” for the upcoming Champions Trophy  after the Indian batsmen failed to deliver in the ICC T20 World Cup and in the West Indies series, which has just concluded.

As a surprising move, the former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid, also named as “The Wall”, has been recalled for the Champions Trophy as he has been included in the 30-member probables list for the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to begin from 24th September in South Africa.

The Indian batsmen showed their infirmity against short-pitched bowling attack, which was evident during the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup and the veteran players could be included in the Indian squad to tackle this problem.

While, the all-rounder Irfan Pathan lost his place in the Indian squad after his poor bowling performance in the T20 World Cup.

The 30 members of the Champions Trophy probables list includes MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Abhishek Nayar, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, Praveen Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik, Munaf Patel, R Ashwin, M Vijay, Amit Mishra, Ajinkya Rahane, Dhawal Kulkarni, S Badrinath, Ashish Nehra, Virat Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Singh, Wriddhiman Saha and Pankaj Singh.
