Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd has finally launched Finrid (Fentanyl Transdem Patch) in domestic market.

The product is licensed from Sparsha pharma and is the first opiod (derived from Opium) transdermal patch to be developed in India

Finrid used in used in management of severe to moderate pain, as it provides continuous systemic delivery of Fentanyl, a potent opioid analgesic for upto 72 hours.

The drug is available in transdermal patch form, which means it is administered through skin in patients suffering from chronic pain.  In addition, it delivers dosages of 25 mcg/hr and 50 mcg/hr depending on the patch used.
