Uninor stops its operations in Mumbai circle

Telecom service provider, Uninor has shut down its operations in the Mumbai telecom circle on Sunday after the Supreme Court of India said in an order that companies whose licenses were cancelled and which did not get their licences renewed to stop operations immediately.

Telecom service provider, Uninor has said that it will continue operations in the Mumbai circle after the Supreme Court of India announced the extension of licenses of the companies whose licenses were to be scrapped on corruption charges.
Uninor has indicated that it has decided to bid for the upcoming auction of spectrum in the Mumbai circle. The company said in a statement that as the Telenor Group has decided to bid for the spectrum and the spex court has allowed an extension of licenses for the companies, the services in Mumbai will continue under the brand.
Uninor reports operating loss of Rs 512 crore for Q3

Uninor, the Indian division of Norwegian telecommunications group Telenor, suffered an operating loss of Rs 512 crore (NOK 536 million) in the three months to September 30, 2012.
The operating loss is quite big, but it is nearly half of operating loss of Rs 1,037 crore that the company had reported for the corresponding period of previous year.
Accumulated losses of the Telenor's Indian arm stood at Rs 13,300 crore as of third quarter of 2012.
Revenues jumped 3 per cent during the reported period, from Rs 801 crore to Rs 825 crore.
Uninor to scale down operations in four circles

Telecom service provider Uninor, which is being operated by a joint venture between Norway's Telenor and Unitech, is planning to scale down operations in four telecom circles in the country and also cut jobs in the regions.
The company will implement a plan to gradually scale down operations in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Orissa circles. The company network in these circles is currently operational and thus the company will move gradually to scale down its operations in order to avoid disruptions.
Uninor to operate in fewer telecom circles in India

Uninor has said that it will soon scale down its operations in the Indian telecom market from the current 13 circles to 9 amid continuing uncertainty over the available telecom licenses.
The company will implement a plan to gradually scale down operations in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Orissa circles. The company network in these circles is currently operational and thus the company will move gradually to scale down its operations in order to avoid disruptions.

The telecom venture of Telenor and India based Unitech- Uninor is yet again launched an all new storming scheme for its, users in its Mumbai circle. Under the scheme the users will be able to avail discounts up to 60% on a 1-paisa per second billing.
The Uninor's Dynamic pricing plan is applicable on all local calls from the Uninor to any other operator also.
Uninor To Gain 8% Market Share By 2018

Eyeing an 8% market share by the year 2018, mobile services provider Uninor, a joint venture between realty firm Unitech and Norway-based Telenor, rolled out services in five telecom circles.
Uninor said that it has permissions to commence operations in all the 22 telecommunication circles across the country.
Now, the company has its presence in 13 service regions of India.
The company, which commenced operations in India in December 2009, launched services in Mumbai, Kolkata, Maharashtra and Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal.
RCom comes out with new and cheaper offers

Following the other players in the industry, especially Uninor, Reliance Communications (RCom) has come up with new packages. These packages are going to offer the reliance consumers real low-cost rates for telecom services.
It will be applicable to all the existing CDMA consumers of Reliance Communications. As per the new plan, the company will be coming up with two calling packs. They will be launched under the brand name of Simply Unlimited CDMA Offer.
Another tariff war expected in telecom segment

The joint venture between Indian company Unitech wireless and Norway telecom giant Telenor, Uninor has announced that it will launch GPRS services for its prepaid subscribers soon. The company is planning to come up with GPRS data services in its 9 circles for its customers. The circles are going to be UP, Uttaranchal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Uninor to launch services in 5 more hubs within 3 months

The joint venture between Unitech and Norway's Telenor, Uninor has announced that it is planning to come up with five more hubs soon. The hubs include some circles. The services are expected to commence by next three months.
Executive Vice President of Uninor of Delhi hub Allen Bonke has informed to Telecom Yatra that the company is being operated by several hubs in the country. Taking the consumer base in to consideration it has decided to start operation by setting up five more hubs in the coming quarter.
