India’s leading automaker, Maruti Suzuki has stated damage assessment activities at its plant in Manesar in Haryana after a week of the violent riots by the workers at the site.
A riot by workers that left Awanish Kumar Dev, General Manager HR dead in a fire accident and resulted in 90 employees being jailed, is likely to affect the company’s operations and disrupt supplies of models.
Maruti Suziki is not planning to move out of Haryana, says Hooda

The chief minister of Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the Maruti Suziki is not planning to move its facilities out of the state and pointed out that there is mutual trust in the long relationship between the company and the state.
Hooda also pledged any kind of support to the company from the authorities. He has clarified that the company, which is the leading automaker in the country, has not put forward any demand to the government.
Lockout at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar Plant

Auto major Maruti Suzuki India has announced indefinite lockout for its Manesar plant after the Wednesday's violence. The company has asked for quick resolution of the police probe. The police has not been able to catch the union leaders, many of whom are on the run. In the violence, a senior HR official was killed.
The company has declined the speculation that it will completely close operations at Manesar once the facility in Gujarat is ready.

The state government of Gujarat has dismissed reports indicating it was was behind the recent troubles at automaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s manufacturing plant in Manesar, Haryana.
“Reports linking Gujarat government with problems in Manesar are baseless and untrue. Maruti Suzuki had announced its plans to invest in Gujarat long back,” minister Saurabh Patel. He also said that the state wants to attract investment but not at the cost of hurting other states.
Riot affects Maruti operations

The company is now facing a lengthy shutdown that could cost $15 million a day and result in disruption of supplies for its models including Swift. The police have said that they are looking to detail the whole of 3,000 strong workforce of the company’s Manesar factory in Haryana in the incident.
Maruti Suzuki sales rise 20.30 per cent in June

The company had sold 80,298 units during June of 2011. Its domestic sales rose 19.30 per cent from 70,020 units in June 2011 to 83,531 units in June 2012. The exports from the company rose by an impressive 27.13 per cent to
13,066 units during the month from 10,278 units in the same month of the previous year, according to the company.
Maruti Suzuki to launch Alto 800 before Diwali

India's leading automaker, Maruti Suzuki Limited has said that it is planning to launch its new fuel efficient, Alto 800 model in the country before the festival time of Diwali.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 will be prices higher than the existing Alto model and will hit the market later in the financial year. The new model will come with an upgraded engine to deliver greater fuel efficacy. It will be based on a revamped Alto platform aimed at reducing the cost of the vehicle development.
Maruti, Suzuki Powertrain Plan To Merge

Diesel engine supplier Suzuki Powertrain India (SPIL) will join hands with the country's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL).
Maruti possesses 30% equity stake in the company, whilst the remaining equity holding is possessed by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), Japan.
Analysts were optimistic on the amalgamation as it implies enhanced margins for Maruti, whose earnings per share might be promoted by 3-4% after the contract.
Suzuki Power registered a higher ebitda of 12.1% as compared to Maruti's 7.2% during FY12.
Maruti Suzuki India reports 5 per cent fall in May auto sales

One of India’s leading automaker, Maruti Suzuki India has said that it has reported a fall of 5 per cent in auto sales during the month of May.
The company’s sales fell 5 per cent to 98,884 units compared to the same month in the previous year. The company’s domestic sales fell 4.3 per cent to 89,478 units and its passenger vehicle sales fell 5.9 per cent to 72,309 units.
Maruti Suzuki Sales Decline 5% In May 2012

Maruti Suzuki has registered a decline of 4.99% in its overall sales, which remained at 98,884 units during the month of May.
Country's biggest car manufacturer had sold 1,04,073 units during the corresponding month of 2011.
During May 2012, MSI posted a drop of 4.32 % in its domestic sales at 89,478 units from 93,519 units in the year-ago period.
In the same way, Maruti Suzuki's exports declined 10.88% to 9,406 units in May 2012 as compared to 10,554 units in May 2011.
Maruti Suzuki's April sales up 3.4 percent

New Delhi, May 1 : Passenger car market leader Maruti Suzuki Tuesday reported an increase of 3.4 percent in its total sales in April, including exports, which stood at 100,415 units from 97,155 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.
Domestic sales grew by 3.6 percent in the month under review at 90,255 units from 87,144 units sold in April 2012. Exports rose by 1.5 percent at 10,160 units as against 10,011 units shipped out in the corresponding period of 2011.

New Delhi, April 2 - Passenger car market leader Maruti Suzuki Monday reported a rise of 3.3 percent in March sales including exports at 125,952 units from 121,952 units in the like period of 2011.
Domestic sales grew by 2.1 percent at 112,724 units in the period under review from 110,424 units in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
Exports increased by 14.7 percent at 13,228 units from 11,528 units sold in March 2011.
Maruti Suzuki not planning to close down Gurgaon plant

Bhargava clarified that the company is closing down one line out of the three assembly lines at the plant, a move that will reduce the installed capacity by 30% to five lakh cars. The plant now has an installed capacity to produce 7.2 lakh cars at the plant.
Maruti Suzuki to increase diesel car production

India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is planning to increase the production of its diesel vehicles in order to cater to the growing demand for diesel cars in the country.
The company will invest Rs 1,700 crore to set up a new diesel engine plant within its Gurgaon facility in Haryana. The new plant is set to have an annual production capacity of three lakh units.
The sale of diesel vehicles has been rising in the country because the government heavily subsidizes the fuel and it is cheaper to run diesel vehicles than cars with petrol engines.
Automakers to pass the increase in exercise duty to customers

India leading automaker, Maruti Suzuki India has said that it has recorded an increase of 6.54 per cent in sales to 1,18,949 units in February 2012 compared to 1,11,645 units in the same month previous year.
The company has recorded its highest ever domestic sales in the current financial year at 1,07,653 units, compared to 1,01,543 units in the previous year period, recording a growth of 6.02 percent, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.

India’s leading automaker, Maruti Suzuki India has launched a new compact version its popular Swift Dzire sedan in Delhi. The company said that the model would have an introductory price between Rs. 4.79 lakh and Rs. 7.09 lakh.
Shinzo Nakanishi, the company's MD and CEO revealed the new shiny model and said that the prices are introductory and are likely to be increased later.
Maruti Suzuki's January sales up 5.2 percent

New Delhi, Feb 1 - Leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Wednesday reported a modest 5.2 percent increase in January sales at 115,433 vehicles, with domestic sales still continuing to be sluggish.
The company had sold 109,743 units in January 2011.
Successive interest rate hikes and rising petrol prices have dented interest of car buyers since some time now. Also, the inability of Maruti to meet increased demand for diesel vehicles has led to the company registering lower sales.

Auto sector major, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL) has reported a fall of 63.6 per cent in net profit in the quarter till December 2011.
Maruti Suzuki’s profit as high interest rates and increasing fuel costs affected the demand for cars in the country. The company, in which 54.2 per cent is held by Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp, recorded a fall of 28 per cent in the December quarter because of a fall in small sales and labour unrest faced by the company.
