Burj Dubai sets to create and break recordsWorld's tallest building-Burj Dubai is all set to be inaugurated on January 4, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Accession Day of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as a ruler of city-state.

The building would scale new world record also in elevator and escalator installation and operation besides its sky touching height of 818 metres. However, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) is yet to officially notify its record-breaking height.

The builder Emaar Properties started construction work for the prestigious building on September 21, 2004 and it took five years, three months and 15 days to get completed after investing $4.1 billion. The building would have 1,044 residential apartments including 144 Armani Residences and 160 ultra-luxury hotel rooms of Armani Hotel Dubai.

Burj Dubai has been installed with a large number of elevators and its main elevator would reach at the record height of 504 meters leaving behind the height of Taipei 101 in Taiwan and Empire State Building in New York, having heights of 448 metres and 381 metres.
