Argentina thrashes Canada 4-2Argentina will face India for the seventh position playoff tie as Argentina has defeated Canada by 4-2 in the last match of the Pool A in the Hockey World Cup in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Lucas Martin Villa, Matias Enrique Paredes, Mario Nicolas Almada and Tomas Innocente Argento scored one goal each for Argentina in the 29th , 43rd , 56th and 70th minutes respectively. Scott Tuper (60th) and David Jameson (65th) scored one goal each for Canada.

Argentina is now placed at the fourth place in the Pool A with six points. Argentina and New Zealand were having six points each but Argentina was placed above Kiwis due to less number of goals conceded by Argentina.

New Zealand occupied the fifth spot and they will play against South Africa in the ninth place playoff tie. Argentina will lock horns with India on Friday while Canada will take on Pakistan for the eleventh-twelfth position on Thursday.
