Anderson says he will continue to torment the Australians

Anderson says he will continue to torment the AustraliansLeeds (UK), Aug. 7 : England fast bowler James Anderson has warned Australia that he will continue tormenting them with the ball - and dishing out the verbals in the middle.

Anderson has tied the tourists in knots this summer, with his 90mph swingers snaring 12 scalps to date.

A quiet guy off the pitch, Anderson is renowned for getting into scrapes on it - as his verbal jousting with Shane Watson at Edgbaston proved.

Known as the "Burnley Express", Anderson has vowed to carry on the sledging for the remaining two Ashes Tests, as his insatiable appetite for wickets continues.

He told SunSport: "We scraped a draw at Cardiff, but since then we''ve outplayed them and deserve to be leading the series. We shown in the last two Tests we can bowl them out cheaply - we want to repeat that in the next two. I feel there are always more wickets out there. You want to contribute for the team, but from a personal perspective you want those five-wicket hauls too. I''m pretty competitive and I will do everything I can to win a Test match for England."

Australia meanwhile have shifted their focus, with rival Watson admitting on Wednesday they would happily take a drawn series and retain the little urn.

For Anderson, however, such noises coming out of their camp suggests that England have edged forward in the mental battle. (ANI)
