Amnesty team visits Kashmir after 20 yearsAmnesty International is an organization that protects human right worldwide and tries to maintain peace and social balance globally. Its contribution towards human rights is remarkable through out the years and all across the globe. An efficient team of this organization visited Kashmir after a long span of 20 years to evaluate the condition of human rights in the valley.

The team consisted of two members and visited on 17th may 2010. They met a number of pro-autonomy chiefs. Team was allowed to visit with permission from union government. The two members BJ Batra and Gopala Krishnan have met several leaders including Hurriyat Conference chairperson Mirwaiz Umer Farooq.

The other leaders they met were Mohammad Yaseen Malik, the chairperson of JKLF, Javed Ahmad Mir, the controller of breakaway JKLF group and people's league leader Farooz Ahmad. Mr. Batra has commented that issue of Kashmir is a vital matter for the Amnesty. That is the main reason and motive of the organization to observe the human rights in this state.
