Aditya Birla Minacs, the BPO arm of the AV Birla group, has signed a five-year outsourcing services deal with Idea Cellular.
The deal, which is valued at Rs 600-crore, is an expansion of Minacs' existing relationship with Idea Cellular.
Under the arrangement, Minacs will provide customer interaction services from its centers in Aurangabad, Baroda and Kolkata. These services will provide support in Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, Khasi and Assamese apart from Hindi and English to 35 million Idea customers.
Minacs plans to employ 4,000 professionals for these three centers by March 2010.
It should be noted that Aditya Birla Minacs, ranked among the top 10 BPO firms by IT industry body Nasscom, has been working with Idea for over a year. Minacs aims to achieve a two-fold jump in turnover at $1 billion by 2013 with its three-tier strategy.
