2012 LA Auto Show opens this week; nearly 1 million attendees expected The 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show will apparently be quite a luxurious event; with more than 50 global, North American and auto show vehicles to be debuted at the event, including nearly half of them from luxury-car manufacturers.

The proceedings at the 2012 LA Auto Show will kick off on November 28, with two press preview days; after which the show will be opened to the public, from November 30 till December 19.

According to show spokesman Brendan Flynn, the LA Auto Show this year will be a platform for as many as 49 vehicle premieres, of which 24 vehicles will be global debuts. In addition, thousands of more sparkly vehicles will be on display at the event.

With the 2012 LA Auto Show also to be the show for luxury and performance, Flynn revealed that the event this time round will have on display some of the sexiest cars conceivable from Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Jaguar. As per Flynn, the vehicles to be displayed this year show that customers will no longer have to forgo style and performance for fuel efficiency.

Moreover, Flynn also said that it is estimated that nearly 1 million consumers will attend the auto show this year; marking a 22 percent increase over the last-year attendee numbers, which stood at approximately 920,000.

Noting that the expected turnout for the show will underscore the highest level to be witnessed ever since the economic downturn, Flynn said: "Our attendance reflects auto sales."
